Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

The following duties are considered essential for this job classification:

1. Perform credit card and cash account reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness.

2. Review, verify, and match supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

3. Prepare, compile, and deliver financial reports as requested by supervisors or management.

4. Maintain thorough and accurate records of business transactions; enter data from daily work logs into the general ledger system.

5. Navigate online platforms to log in, download, organize, and save documents and reports; maintain well‑structured electronic files.

6. Support digital workflows—this position operates in a paperless environment.

7. Assist senior accounting personnel with departmental tasks and projects requiring accounting support.

8. Perform additional accounting duties as needed to support the Finance Department.

Technical Skills:

1. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel, for reporting, data entry, and analysis.

2. General computer literacy and the ability to learn new software programs.

3. Comfort working in fully electronic systems and online document management platforms.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

3. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.

4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented, confidential environment.

5. Effective communication skills and adaptability to evolving processes.

6. Basic understanding of accounting principles, reconciliation practices, and internal controls.

7. Ability to act responsibly and ethically when handling sensitive financial information.

8. Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with coworkers, vendors, and community members.

9. Willingness and ability to comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and Tribal financial regulations, as well as internal policies.

Experience & Education

Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred.
