La Jolla has several members who are over the age of 55. They are often referred to as our “55 and better” community. They mostly consist of Tribal members and their spouses. Our Senior Building was constructed in the past year and is currently on the verge of operation. This building will serve as a hub for our community. They will hold potlucks, meetings, games, and it will also serve as a place to relax and have a conversation.

Our 55 and better group also has a few subgroups within it. One of these groups is our Chair Volleyball Team, The La Jolla Gems. This award-winning team travels to tournaments in California and Arizona. They have taken high ranks several times and have even come in first place in these tournaments. They have weekly practices a couple time a week. Our group stays active. Programming can be anything from potlucks to taking day thrips to different destinations in Southern California.
