1. Assist classroom staff in all classroom activities, field trips, and outdoor activities, including lesson plans.
2. Assist with classroom assessments and observations.
3. Assist in developing materials and providing activities related to the cultural background of the children and families served.
4. Supervise children indoors and outdoors at all times.
5. Helps supervise and cook at mealtime, eating with the children to encourage good nutrition and proper social skills.
6. Helps keep the classroom and its contents clean and orderly.
7. Assists the teacher in any aspect of the program as the need arises.
8. Serves as a substitute in the absence of another staff member
9. Sanitizes surfaces, picks up and puts away materials in the classroom/kitchen in order to maintain a safe and organized environment.

11. Have a positive attitude, be energetic, and be a good role model. Report any symptoms of child abuse to a supervisor and/or the child abuse hotline.
12. Reports all staffing and classroom concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
13. Prepare progress reports as needed; maintain ongoing communications with parents/caregivers.
14. Plan periodical parent conferences to discuss children’s developmental progress, needs and interests.
15. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
16. Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
17. Performs related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
1. Successful completion of child protective services and criminal background check, drug screening, and physical.
2. Valid certification in pediatric CPR, first aid, and preventative health practices
3. Verification of Immunizations AA Degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
4. 1-2 years of previous experience in a classroom setting
5. Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills to converse effectively with staff and parents; innate ability to work steadily and calmly in high-pressure situations.
6. Proven ability to work independently, to establish and revise priorities to meet shifting deadlines, and to prioritize and organize workload to meet multiple deadlines.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of current concepts and best practices used in education; methods of observing, evaluating, and recording child behavior and development.
8. Ability to work with a diverse population at all levels of the organization, including staff, school teachers, families, and other representatives, with proven ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
9. Ability to effectively plan, organize, and implement educational activities; make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being.
10. Demonstrated experience using computers and relevant software applications, including database management, spreadsheets, research, calendaring, and word processing.
11. Valid CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications must be acquired
12. Able to obtain a Class B Driver’s License
13. Be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends
14. Able to lift 50lbs
15. Familiarity with Native American culture
